In last weeks session, we drew canned food or any type of cans. We had to draw the cans from our point of view and sketch it to make it look realistic. we had 15 minutes to sketch and shade before showing our teacher. I had alot of fun drawing cans but the challening part was trying not to give up.

Our Inquiry in term 3 for 3 weeks was Olympics. Throughout the 3 weeks we had to learn about some Olympians who competed in the Olympics and the history of Olympics. Our class did something fun for the Olympic topic, we got split into 3 different countries Argentina(the best), Mexico and Japan. Matariki weaving
On Friday 2nd of July we had a visitor named Whae Hei who came in to teach us how to weave since it was Matariki week. Whae Hei decided to teach us how to make a ball out of flax. Whae Hei asked Pila and Tautaina to go outside to collect some more flax so that everyone gets a flax. She then asked us to get two pieces of flax and tie the ends together, we then were told to plait the flax as if we were plaiting hair but instead of plaiting it normal we had to go over with the left flax and then under, over with the right flax.
At first I was struggling because I didn't get the hang of it but eventually I got the hang of it and finished making a ball out of flax. We then had to fold the ends inside the flax and then cut the left overs off. Overall it was fun making a ball out of flax and experiencing how to make a ball out of flax.
