Kiwikids news

 In todays lesson, our class read an article from Kiwikids news called 'Blood Micromoon coming to New Zealand'. My class did a task were we had to asnwer recall questions, thinking questions and write our rating of the article.  In last weeks session, we drew canned food or any type of cans. We had to draw the cans from our point of view and sketch it to make it look realistic. we had 15 minutes to sketch and shade before showing our teacher. I had alot of fun drawing cans but the challening part was trying not to give up.

Happy Diwali!

 Happy Diwali everyone!! in todays lesson I learnt some cool facts about Diwali festival. Did you know Diwali is a light festival celebrated by Hindus, Jains Sikhs, Newar Buddhists, It is associated with the Goddess of prosperity (Lakshmi) it marks the financial year in India. Here are some cool facts I learnt from this lesson. Hope yous learn something new about Diwali. 

Fun fact 1 -  The festival occurs on a no-moon night 

Fun fact 2 - Diwali celebrates the birth of Lakshmi Goddess of wealth 

Fun fact 3 - Diwali is also called Divali, Deepavali, Deepawali and Festival of lights

Fun fact 4 - Diwali takes place annually and lasts for 5 days marking the start of the Hindu new year

Fun fact 5 - Originally Diwali was a harvest Festival 

Fun fact 6 -  Lighting candles, oil lamps, and sparklers are the main customs at this festival
